Beer of the Week 6/28: Front Stoop
Updated: Oct 5, 2020
Beer: Front Stoop
Type: West Coast IPA
ABV: 7.7%
Brewer: Triple Bottom Brewing
Location: Philadelphia, PA

What about this beer ISN’T awesome? The name immediately appeals to the “Hey Arnold” fan in me. The label on the can clearly took some hard work and is so very Philly. The brewer lists tasting notes such as “aromas of Lemonhead and purple PEZ.” And the mantra of Triple Bottom Brewing, a very community-focused enterprise, is “It’s bigger than beer.” There’s a lot to like overall.
But for the beer itself, in classic West-Coast IPA style, the piney bitterness and malty taste is very apparent. Front Stoop is hopped with six different varieties: Nugget, Centennial, Lemondrop, Mosaic, Chinook and Citra. Triple Bottom has their take on a juice bomb (which is also excellent), but this is the classic well-balanced IPA that reels fans back in from that haze craze. And personally, I feel very lucky that my local bottle shop is the first place Triple Bottom has distributed to in Philadelphia! That’s how fresh these cans are.
